Jerrod Delaine received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree from Florida A & M University, in Tallahassee, FL as well as his Bachelor of Architecture degree. Jerrod completed his Masters of Science in Real Estate Development from New York University.

In high school, he was invited to attend a summer intensive composed of design, history, and structures coursework at the FAMU School of Architecture. As an undergraduate collegiate student at FAMU, he competed and placed in a student competition in his final semester, gaining his first architectural job from one of the judges.

Jerrod completed his Masters of Science in Real Estate Development from New York University and was President of the NYU Real Estate Institute Student Association. During the 2011-2012 school year, the student association completed over 60 events and activities, surpassing the previous tenure 10 fold. Jerrod was also a member of two teams who competed and placed in national scholastic Real Estate Development competitions. He was the student vice chair of the NYU Center for the Sustainable Built Environment (SBE), wherein he has performed in the capacity of a student research assistant. In 2011, he was a part of a team that analyzed New York University’s New Construction Sustainability and within this report, provided initiatives to be amended into the NYU Design Guidelines. The mission of SBE is to provide a multi-disciplinary, collaborative platform to advance the practice of sustainability in the real estate and construction industries through applied research, education, and outreach.

Jerrod is an adjunct professor at New York University Schack Institute of Real Estate. He teaches graduate and undergraduate level courses. He has taught Real Estate Development Process, Public-Private Real Estate Projects, and Developing Multifamily Real Estate in New York City.

Jerrod is a visiting professor at the Pratt Institute.  He teaches in Pratt’s Master of Science in Real Estate Practice program. The goal of the program is to develop students with the capacity to practice the business of real estate with a focus on public/private partnership, as well as housing and urban development, with a commitment to achieving The Three E’s of sustainability—economy, equity, and environment. At Pratt, he teaches the Specifications, Urban Economics/Market Analysis, and Fundamentals of Real Estate Portfolio Investments.

He has recently created The Jerrod Delaine Scholarship for a talented senior architecture student at Florida A & M University’s School of Architecture and Engineering Technology. Gregory, Denise, Jerrod, Corion and Gabrielle Delaine have created The Gregory and Denise Delaine Scholarship for a deserving high school senior from Greater New Bethel Baptist Church in Miami, Florida.
